Ճշմարտություն

1:12: Իսկ որք ընկալանն զնա` ետ նոցա իշխանութիւն որդիս Աստուծոյ լինել որոց հաւատասցեն յանուն նորա:
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:

1:13: ոյք ոչ յարենէ եւ ոչ ի կամաց մարմնոյ եւ ոչ ի կամաց առն, այլ յԱստուծոյ ծնան:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God:

1:17: Զի օրէնքն ի ձեռն Մովսիսի տուան, շնորհքն եւ ճշմարտութիւն ի ձեռն Յիսուսի Քրիստոսի եղեն:
For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ:

3:5: Պատասխանի ետ Յիսուս եւ ասէ. Ամէն ամէն ասեմ քեզ. Եթէ ոչ ոք ծնցի ի ջրոյ եւ ի Հոգւոյ, ոչ կարէ մտանել յարքայութիւն Աստուծոյ:
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God:
3:6: Զի ծնեալն ի մարմնոյ մարմին է, եւ ծնեալն ի Հոգւոյ հոգի է:
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit:
3:7: Դու մի՛ զարմանար թէ ասացի քեզ. Պարտ է ձեզ ծնանել վերստին:
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again:
3:8: Զի հողմ ուր կամի շնչէ, եւ զձայն նորա լսես, այլ ոչ գիտես ուստի գայ կամ յո երթայ. սոյնպէս եւ ամենայն ծնեալն ի Հոգւոյն:
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit:

3:13: Եւ ոչ ոք ել յերկինս, եթէ ոչ որ էջն յերկնից` Որդին մարդոյ, որ էն յերկինս:
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven:

3:14: Եւ որպէս Մովսէս բարձրացոյց զօձն յանապատին, նոյնպէս բարձրանալ պարտ է Որդւոյ մարդոյ:
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
3:15: Զի ամենայն որ հաւատայ [5]ի նա` ընկալցի զկեանսն յաւիտենականս:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life:
3:16: Զի այնպէս սիրեաց Աստուած զաշխարհ, մինչեւ զՈրդին իւր միածին ետ. զի ամենայն որ հաւատայ ի նա` մի՛ կորիցէ, այլ ընկալցի զկեանսն յաւիտենականս:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life:
3:17: Զի ոչ առաքեաց Աստուած զՈրդի իւր յաշխարհ թէ դատեսցի զաշխարհ, այլ զի փրկեսցի աշխարհ նովաւ:
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved:
3:18: Որ հաւատայ ի նա` ոչ դատապարտեսցի. եւ որ ոչ հաւատայ ի նա` արդէն իսկ դատապարտեալ է, զի ոչ հաւատաց յանուն միածնի Որդւոյն Աստուծոյ:
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God:
3:19: Եւ այս իսկ է դատաստան, զի լոյս եկն յաշխարհ, եւ սիրեցին մարդիկ զխաւար առաւել քան զլոյս, զի էին գործք իւրեանց չարութեան:
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil:
3:20: Զի ամենայն որ զչար գործէ` ատեայ զլոյս, եւ ոչ գայ առ լոյսն, զի մի՛ յանդիմանեսցին գործք նորա:
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved:
3:21: Իսկ որ առնէ զճշմարտութիւն` գայ առ լոյսն, զի յայտնի լիցին գործք նորա թէ Աստուծով գործեցան:
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God:
